ABOUT ABOUT

There are many organizations doing great work in Camden to increase food access and improve health outcomes.  However, no single organization - no matter how innovative or powerful - can create healthier communities alone.  In order to transform our food systems and our communities, we must acknowledge a shared responsibility for solutions.

This is where shared leadership comes in.  Shared leadership refers to people working together to design, solve problems, manage, and plan for the future. Instead of a top down approach, the goal is to empower people or teams to figure out the best way to work together and achieve their goals. Organizations can embrace the principles of shared leadership as they work together to procure funding, or work together for a common purpose, such as achieving one of recommendations of Cultivating Camden.

Using participatory and collaborative approaches, participant-stakeholders will:

  1. Identify examples of shared leadership, the benefits and potential challenges;
  2. Explore the key principles of shared leadership: intentionality, trust, inclusivity, alignment and team development;
  3. Learn strategies to support shared leadership; and
  4. Practice collaborative methods to gather and review data, and planning.

The workshop will be facilitated by Robin Rifkin, M.S., C.T.F.  Funding is provided in part by the Campbell's Healthy Communities Initiative.

Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30AM.  Lunch will be provided.
