Rating the Region
Mary E. Bell, Manager, Demographic and Economic Analysis, DVRPC
Ms. Bell will present key findings from DVRPC’s recent Rating the Region report, which compares Greater Philadelphia to the nation’s 25 largest metropolitan areas. The report discusses indicators related to demographics, the environment, livability, the economy, and transportation, and highlights regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
The Road to Recovery
Phil Hopkins, Director, Consulting, Economics, and Country Risk, IHS Global
Mr. Hopkins will discuss the region’s recovery from the recession, based on variables such as employment, unemployment, housing prices, and income, and share IHS’s latest economic forecasts for the region.
Future Forces: An Interactive Discussion on the Region’s Economic Future
Michael Boyer, Associate Director, Planning, DVRPC
Mr. Boyer will present key takeaways from DVRPC’s recent Future Forces report on the impact of external, global forces on the region, and lead a discussion on what they mean for the region’s future economic growth and prosperity.

The American Planning Association (APA) passed a Certification Maintenance (CM) program to guide continuing education for those that have received American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification. DVRPC is a registered CM provider. This event has been approved for 1.5 CM credits.
