Futures Group: Current Trends in Globalization
Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 9 am to 11 am
DVRPC's Main Conference Room

Are we thinking about competitiveness wrong in an interdependent global economy? It's been said that thanks to the interconnected globalization, New York is closer to Hong Kong than it is to Buffalo. In today's world, regions that are most plugged into global trade networks thrive, while those with less access to them are falling behind.

What are the implications of these, and emerging globalization counter trends—such as populism and trade wars—for the future of Greater Philadelphia?

Panelists:
Dr. Ram Mudambi, Fox School of Business, Temple University
Linda Conlin, President, World Trade Center Greater Philadelphia
Lauren Swartz, Senior Director, International Business Department of Commerce, City of Philadelphia

Special guest moderator: Steve Mullin of E-Consult Solutions, Inc.
