2019 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Development
The CEDS is a strategy-driven plan for regional economic development. It is the result of a regionally-owned planning process designed to build capacity and guide the economic prosperity and resiliency of an area or region. The CEDS is a key component in establishing and maintaining a healthy economic ecosystem by guiding the regional capacity through hard and soft infrastructure investments that contribute to individual, business, and community successes. Most importantly, regions are required to update their CEDS at least every five years to qualify for U.S. EDA assistance.
In October 2018, DVRPC convened economic development stakeholders and partners to conduct a regional Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threat (SWOT) analysis. This next workshop will highlight the state of the regional economy as well as the results of the SWOT workshop. Attendees will work in small groups to discuss and refine proposed goals and objectives.
