ABOUT ABOUT

Location;         Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) is hosting a Regional Traffic Incident Management Conference to be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at Citizens Bank Ballpark.

Generally, for every minute a lane is blocked due to a traffic indent = 4+ minutes that are added to the traffic delay.  Therefore, incidents must be detected and cleared as rapidly and safely as possible to minimize the impact of congestion, especially during peak periods.

The purpose of the conference is to highlight various aspects of the incident timeline and promote the need for cooperation and a unified incident command structure so that responders can perform their jobs efficiently, and more importantly, safely.  Responder safety and safe, quick clearance incident management tactics at incidents will be emphasis areas of the conference.

This regional conference will be geared to our task force participants/emergency responders such as police, fire, emergency medical services, DOT, towing, and any other key personnel responsible for other aspects of responding to or managing incidents or emergencies on freeways and surface streets.
DVRPC’s Incident Management Task Forces (IMTF) includes:

• I-76 / I-476 Crossroads IMTF
• NJ Southern Area First Responders (SAFR) IMTF
• Philadelphia (I-95)  IMTF
• Chester County IMTF
