This meeting will be devoted to a Special Strategies Session. The Special Strategies Session is designed to inform the upcoming Transportation Safety Analysis & Plan (TSAP) update. It will focus on both the AASHTO Emphasis Areas and FHWA’s Safe System approach to roadway safety. The session follows a similar process to PennDOT and NJDOT's Strategic Highway Safety Plan strategy sessions. It creates a forum for small working groups to discuss best practices for addressing critical road safety issues. The recommendations that emerge from these discussions will be incorporated into the TSAP, which informs project identification and focuses attention on key safety challenges and solutions in the region.

Established in September 2005, the Regional Safety Task Force brings together a multi-disciplinary group of professionals to identify safety goals, strategies and resources. The goal of the Task Force is to build and maintain effective partnerships with the purpose of reaching zero casualties from crashes in the region.
