This session aims to provide participants with tools to bring the information gained in previous HCTF Racial Equity Workshops back to individual agencies and leaders. The audience will gain knowledge on how to speak directly with their leadership about racial equity and how to minimize racial trauma in their workplace via case studies, role plays, and additional activities. An actionable plan will also be created so that the audience can implement tangible strategies within their respective organizations.
The focus of this session will be on practicing the skills participants learned in the previous trainings and building an actionable plan to implement changes. Attendance at one of the previous HCTF Racial Equity Workshops is preferred, but not necessary. However, due to the brief nature of the training, the trainer will assume that everyone in attendance has background knowledge of racial equity and racial trauma.
Practicing Strategies oh How to Speak to Leadership will be offered on Thursday, August 22nd from 9:00am to 10:30am at DVRPC. The workshop will be facilitated by Elizabeth Byrne, MA, NCC, LPC, a licensed and board-certified counselor with The Ladipo Group.
