Join the PPTF and Connect the Dots, a civic engagement firm from Philadelphia and Dublin, Ireland, in an interactive workshop to share best practices around stakeholder engagement and explore approaches to common challenges in placemaking. Connect the Dots specializes in creative and analytics-based consultation that can help to achieve community-supported projects, mitigate risk, and speed up development timelines. 

Come ready to learn, engage, and discuss your ideas about engagement in planning projects and studies.

Speaker Bios:
Marisa Denker, Co-Founder Connect the Dots 
Marisa has deep expertise in consultation design, strategic communications, stakeholder management and project management. Previously, she worked at MCO Projects, one of Ireland’s leading project management and strategic design firms where she managed large-scale public and behavioral change projects, designed public consultations and events, and developed communications strategies for clients such as Comcast, Temple University, and Independence Blue Cross.

Kiersten Mailler, Senior Planner at Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Kiersten  is trained in architectural and urban design, and has gravitated to public engagement over the last decade. She works as a community and regional planner in the greater Philadelphia area, and has done extensive work in user experience, urban spatial planning, and demographic studies. She has built meaningful relationships with local CDCs and Philadelphia Planning Agencies. 

Jasmin Velez,  Community Development Project Manager at Impact Services Corporation
Jasmin Velez is an applied anthropologist with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit sector and with diverse populations.As an almost life-long resident of the Kensington neighborhood and North Philadelphia, she is dedicated to equipping residents with the resources and tools necessary to uplift the community. Much of Jasmin’s work and passion centers on community building and engagement through vacant land stabilization, block beautification projects, and community gardening.
