DVRPC, with support from University City District, is excited to host two interactive, in-person workshops on the Intersection of Complete Streets and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. The workshops will be held at DVRPC on Tuesday, June 4th and Wednesday, June 5th from 10am to 6pm, with an optional night session on June 5th. The workshop will be facilitated by Charles Brown, Founder and CEO of Equitable Cities. Attendees should register for only one daytime workshop as each day will be the same information and format, while the nighttime session will provide additional guidance and fieldwork.
About the Workshops
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a comprehensive place-based approach to crime prevention that utilizes design and space management to promote and maintain community safety. Going beyond changes to the physical environment, CPTED also focuses on community- building to develop relationships and social efficacy. These one-day, introductory workshops will provide attendees with the knowledge and training necessary to begin to implement effective CPTED strategies in their communities.
